A Tired Frog

This song was created for Game of Bands round 139 : "Frogs"

Lyrics:

Nice to meet ya, my name is Gerald.
I live on a lilypad just off the edge of the Michigan
I spend most of my day toiling for my family
Catching flies and other bugs to keep their bellies full
It's a tedious life without much fun day-to-day
But if it means my wife and tadpoles are happy
Then I guess a life of mediocrity is good enough for me
Don't be fooled, I'm satisfied - I just wish there was more.

I live
Alone
In my
Abode
I just
don't know
so I just
I cry
Alone
for what
don't know
they see
me cry
i can't
know why
i want
to fly
reach up
and touch
the sky
break free
and run
away
and not
turn back

sit upon my lilypad
staring right up at the clouds
ponder my reality
see the me who isn't me
dream away the dark sorrow
hopping for a tomorrow
where i am who i have dreamed
inside i yell and i scream
let me break from this prison
run from this indecision
i claim that i am happy

and yet
i see
a world
sans me
may be
more free
it hurts
i cry
can't i
just die
drown out
sorrow
no to-
morrow
i'll say
goodbye
run off
explore
maybe
life is
worth it
living
is not
that bad
at least
i hope

So you might have noticed by now that things aren't going very well for me.
So I'm going to leave and wander the world. I want to see something, experience life.
I can't live trapped at home on my lily, I need to breathe, and find something worth finding.
So I'm gonna hop away, leave my family and past behind, and only then can I truly live.

Ribbit
Ribbit
Ready
Hit it
Jump out
Leaping
Hopping
Hoping
Restart
Anew
A fresh
New life
A world
For me
To see
Explore
I care
It's new
So cool
I feel
Alive
Begin
Alone
I guess
There might
Be hope

Incredible...
Inspiring...
Untouched...
Beautiful...
It's there...
I can see it...
It's indescribable...
This is my future...
I can finally breathe...
This is worth fighting for...

And so, I venture off towards the mountains. Seeing nature outside of my world is breathtaking.
A weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This is the best decision I've ever made
I turn around and see a foreign figure - something large, something fast. It's new and confusing.
What... is this magnificent beast?
