Metamorphosis

This song was created for Game of Bands round 139 : "Frogs"

Lyrics:

Metamorphosis

VERSE

The first morning of my existence
A little speck among little specks
Four thousand of my closest brethren
In an arrangement most complex

Time marches, I start this
Growth process rather quickly
And soon I
Have survived
Though it's been a little tricky

CHORUS

From egg to polliwog, from polliwog to frog
the body I know right now is not my last
From ponds and lakes and streams, to dirt and leaves and trees
My placement may be changing rather fast
But don't forget
I'm not dead yet

VERSE

The water surrounding me
So clear, so pure, so fragrant
The sunlight shining through the waves
adorns me in bright raiment
And yet my growing is not done
I'm lacking legs and needing lungs
My body finds a way
to survive another day

CHORUS

From egg to polliwog, from polliwog to frog
I'm changing at a record-breaking pace
From dirt and leaves and trees, to ponds and lakes and streams
I can't continue thriving in this place
But don't forget
I'm not dead yet

BRIDGE

Four powerful legs, two excellent eyes,
and a tongue a third-length of my body
Evolved from an egg, I stand four inches high
and the flies won't live after they've fought me.
All the ladies are fond of me, as are the snakes,
But I'll know if they ever come near.
I can hop across ponds, I can swim across lakes,
I can walk across streams without fear.

CHORUS

From egg to polliwog, from polliwog to frog
I'm changing at a record-breaking pace
From dirt and leaves and trees, to ponds and lakes and streams
I can't continue thriving in this place
But don't forget
I'm not dead yet
[Exit]
