The Panic

This song was created for Game of Bands round 145 : "Track Must Build to a Climax at Some Point II"

Off, off to home, I go
My feet sweep across the concrete roads
I hope I find someone in waiting

Look, a sullen child
Her bare back a timid show
She leaps to her feet as the rain gently pours

I sleep in the evening sunshine
Then dream of a ship, sailing
And me onboard, gently weeping
For to great lands, I would go

I am a helpless deed
Onto the shoulders of a giant, I climb
I hope we tread a million miles away
To the land of no living soul
Panic pounds my heart and the blanket I grasp for
The legs curled onto themselves, the head rested
Hope spits upon the call, the fool tends to the herd
The panic soars in the belly, staggering and stumbling
Then shreds to tiny bits, sobbing wildly
The fear piercing the body open, and you
And you can mold it, sweat it, feel it
But life will always be a sad affair
