This song was created for Game of Bands round 70 : "Ancient Greece and/or Rome"

Lyrics:

The Ballad of Sisyphus (The Ups and Downs of Eternity)
----------------------------
VERSE 1
My voice echoes as the breath it leaves me
These subtle cues of my task
Can I not outwit this forsaken rock
This bane, this bane of mine

CHORUS
Up, down, up, down

LEAD

CHORUS
Up, down, Up, Down

VERSE 2
My muscles quiver, the pain relentless
Overbearing burden I bear
I shall not outwill that forsaken rock
Oh the craftiest of man

CHORUS
Up, down, up, down

OUTRO

NOTE -
In Greek mythology Sisyphus, a king of Ephyra/Corinth, was eternally punished for chronic deceitfulness by being compelled to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, repeating this action forever.
