Face down, supplicate for grace

Sell more scratch-offs

Why keep working?
For some pretense

Neck deep into debt
Hung out to forget
Oh dear god no, I broke the rule again
Whipped back into shape
Scar tissue will not fade
Don't hurt no more, but the lesson stays

Lick salt off the floor
Can't beg for no- seconds
I eat my fill of dust and promises
So, wasting away
Limp day after- night
